Berlin Senate Press Conference on February 21, 2017

Mars Propco 1 S.a.r.l has reached an out-of-court settlement with the Woelffer theatres regarding the continued operation of a theatre in the Ku’damm Karree. The new lease agreement is to run for 20 years, and also includes the option of twice extending the contract for a period of five years.

Berlin’s Senator for Culture Dr. Klaus Lederer, Martin Woelffer and Mars Propco 1 S.a.r.l collectively signed a memorandum that ensures the long-term continuation of a theatre business in the Ku’damm Karree. Performances will continue at a newly created urban plaza, which will be part of the Ku’damm Karree complex and accessible via a wide walkway leading off Kurfürstendamm. A state-of-the-art auditorium with approx. 670 seats is to be built beneath the plaza, while on street level the plaza will feature a prestigious oval-shaped foyer, including box offices and a café.
